PITTSBURGH (KKDA) – The Beaver County Humane Society is in urgent need of donations.
This month, dozens of animals were dropped off at the shelter – many more than they’re used to caring for. And it’s hitting them financially.
The cages are full and funds are running low.
“Since June, our shelter has been quite overwhelmed with a lot of admissions,” said Susan Salyards with the Beaver County Humane Society.
The Humane Society says in the last week alone they’ve had over 100 animals come into the shelter.
This month has been a busy time, made worse by several emergency situations in the county.
“Last week we had a hoarding situation in Chippewa Township and then just this week, Aliquippa Police brought us nine emaciated dogs that are currently in our care,” said Salyards.
