Last month, Mom had her special day and we told you about some events in the Pittsburgh area, so this month it’s time to check out a few events in honor of Dad.
Wigle Whiskey is hosting a pig roast at 2 p.m. in their new barrel house. Like their Mother’s Day event, this is a 21 and over only celebration.
If your dad’s more of a health nut than a foodie, there’s the 12th annual Man Up Father’s day 5k/10k Run/Walk and Fun Walk. This event is family friendly and raises money for the Obediah Cole Foundation for Prostate Cancer. The race kicks of at 8 a.m. on Sunday at Riverfront Park on the North Shore Trail, and the day-of registration is a little pricier than pre-registration.
For a family friendly twist on the traditional brunch, The National Aviary is hosting a Father’s Day Brunch. Contact The Aviary to preregister for a meal at either 10:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. under the tent in the Rose Garden.
If you’re on a budget, both the ToonSeum and the Pittsburgh Zoo offer free admission for dad on his special day. The ToonSeum only charges $4 for the rest of the family.
